Every day in our country 700 women are abused and 4 are murdered by their intimate partners.
•
Battering is the single major cause of injury to women - more frequent than auto accidents, muggings and rapes combined.
•
Fifty-three percent of battering husbands abuse their children too.
•
Children in violent families learn from their experience; 30% become violent adults. They often suffer from disrupted development, poor health and poor academic performance.
Goals & Objectives
Our goal is to eliminate violence in all of its forms.
We believe that breaking the cycle of violence through awareness, education and offender accountability is the key to prevention.
Our current focus is to:
•
Reach underserved populations
•
Create new prevention materials to raise awareness about abusive behaviors and teach healthy dynamics in relationships
•
Actively participate in our community's response to violence
